The object of this design is a cancer clinic, which is located in the Central Park of Manhattan city. We have chosen such a quiet island between the high-rise buildings in Manhattan, and placed such an inclined octahedron with conflicting gestures. This inclined octahedron is made up of two inverted pyramids, which symbolize the behavior of the patients who can be cured and cannot be cured in them respectively. The bottom face of the pyramids are inverted and interlocked with each other, which is to strengthen the conflict between the two kinds of behavior, and to tell about the mutual antagonism of life between haphazard and inevitability and the healing story. However, all of this conflict between and the curable and the incurable are limited under the surface of this inclined octahedron, which causes the contradiction between life and death to be further enriched and strengthened. There are private rooms around a floor in the places of intersection of two mirroring closed pyramids, where the contradiction gets the greatest degree of intensification between the two parties who can be cured and cannot be cured. Thus this layer is the only relatively transparent part of the whole building, aiming to dialogue with the city through showing the contradiction between the dead and survivors, and to show the fragility of life and strength in the iron and steel forest full of scenes of debauchery. There are ten floors of the clinic in total. The lower part is the inverted pyramid containing the first to fourth layers, which is the major space for the curable patients, including the patient's acceptance, rest, diagnosis and initial treatment. The fifth layer is more transparent, with a surrounding arrangement of private rooms, just like a monk's compartment. Correspondingly, the upper part from sixth to tenth layers is for incurable patients, including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, intensive care and palliative care wards In the top there is a completely closed morgue.
